we are back from our retreat...with relaxed bodies and minds. i am ever so grateful for the chance to escape to a place where there is nothing to hear other than quiet, where cell phones have no reception, where there is no computer...to the woods.
i want to share some of my favorite moments during our little family retreat...
:: snuggling in front of the fire
:: rambing through the woods on a nature walk
:: appreciating the beauty that simply grows upon a stump
:: an inquisitive and observant tot, "where did all of the green trees go?"
:: finding a nature made see-saw
:: creating a nature table away from home
:: watching my husband with an axe over his shoulder
:: having a little helper with the firewood
:: hearing my tot ponder life "does the bunny have a belly button?"
:: spending hours with this view (in my most favorite shoes)
:: having a hearty laugh when we found a Bluegrass Tribute to Metallica in the CD player and the laughing more as we listened
:: rocking my toddler to sleep fireside after a long day
i'll be back tomorrow with a post about these moments of knitting and creating...and where they lead.
with warmth,
hillary
